MOUNT NEMRUT

Mount Nemrud is a partially isolated mountain complex situated in the northern potion of Mesopotamia. This mountain, 2150 m. high, is part of the Mount Taurus chain (South East Taurus Mountains). Its great fame in terms of monuments, which makes it an absolute must for anyone who takes a trip to Turkey, is due to the presence of one of the most extraordinary funeral monuments of antiquity, built for Antiochus I Commagene.
