MEVLANA

The Monastery-Mausoleum of Mevlana is heralded by the superb conical fluted dome of an intense turquoise which stands out against the sky. The setting of this architectural jewel consists of other domes and minarets. This complex of buildings is at the head of the list of sites visited by the tourist. Particularly worthy of note is the türbeh (13th cent.) with the sarcophagus of Gelaleddin Rumi and his close relatives.
