ASCLEPIUM

The so-called Sacred Way, once flanked by columns, leads to what remains of the Aesculapium, without doubt the best-known temple of ancient Pergamon. The temple already existed in pre-Roman times and was consecrated in honor of Aesculapius, god of medicine.
